Rahoo is a name of a black giant deity who appears in Buddhist legend. In Thailand, Rahoo is known very well as an amulet and a statue. People believe to worship Rahoo will make the worshipper lucky, wealthy and successful in everything. Moreover, Rahoo can drive out bad luck and bad things from life of the worshipper.
Rahoo is the deity who is worshiped widely. In astrology, Rahoo represents Rahoo Planet (called Dow Rahoo) when it orbits near a planet in universe, its power will produce changes to that planet.
We believe each person has his birth planet (7 planets of 7 days: Sunday/ Sun, Monday/Moon, Tuesday/Mars, Wednesday/ Mercury, Thursday/ Jupiter, Friday/ Venus, Saturday/Saturn). That means when Rahoo planet moves near our planet in a year, there will be good or bad effects in our life in a year, too.
Therefore, each year, many Thai people popularly pay respect to Rahoo and do offering for him with 8 black things. This way is believed to reduce strength of Rahoo power that may bring changes to a person. Worshiping Rahoo will bring good changes to people in every day of birth. When people have worshiped Rahoo, they feel comfortable with promising hopes of good luck, less obstacles and prosperity.
