Ratchabophit Temple Ceremony with Coin of King Taksin, Year 2521

Foundation of His Majesty King Taksin 


The commemorative coin of His Majesty King Taksin the Great, designed by Luang Chin Kanayanatti Chin Phra, abbot of Wat Thipwaree, with Admiral Sangad Chaloryu as chairman of the event and Khunying Saengduen Na Nakorn as the operational chairman for the coin's creation. A consecration ceremony was held at the ubosot of Wat Ratchabophit from January 10, 2521, to January 14, 2521, lasting 5 days. 108 revered monks from both Maha Nikaya and Dhammayuttika Nikaya orders participated, with Luang Pu Toh of Wat Pradoochimplee, Bangkok, as the leading monk. It was the most significant consecration ceremony in the past 250 Buddhist years, making the coin a precious amulet. Mr. Sanya Thammasak, president of the Supreme Court, represented the monarch at the event. Somdej Phra Ariyawongsakatayan (Was Wasano) lit the candles and Somdej Phra Theerayanmuni (Theer) of Wat Chakrawaddi Rajawas, Bangkok, extinguished the Victory Candle on January 14, 2521. The coin's specifics are described separately.


The grand consecration ceremony featured His Holiness the Sangharaja lighting the victory candle. The large consecration ceremony lasted 5 days and included the participation of 108 revered monks from both Maha Nikaya and Dhammayuttika Nikaya sects. * Luang Pu Wan from Wat Tham Apai Dhamrong Tham, Sakon Nakhon

* Luang Pu Kram from Wat Wang Wa, Rayong

* Luang Phor Saeng from Wat Prajanta Ram, Prachinburi

...and many other esteemed monks. This coin was historically documented in several books on religious amulets. The coin itself is in pristine condition, representing significant ceremonies. It is a revered token from ceremonies led by top monks, dedicated to King Taksin and consecrated by revered monks, ensuring spiritual merit.
